A seven-year-old girl has been killed by a Honda saloon registration number DA 6963 near Kazomba primary school in Mzimba district Tuesday.
The standard 2 two girl, identified as Sella Chisi, was hit while crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.
She was pronounced dead on arrival at Mzimba hospital a while later.
Mzimba district police spokesperson, Peter Botha confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Botha, the police have arrested the driver identified as Emmanuel Mwale, 37.
The driver will likely answer charges of causing death through reckless driving.
