Teacher Netted For Defiling Six Pupils

UGANDA; Police in Uganda are keeping in custody a primary school teacher for allegedly defiling six primary school girls.

According to the Police, Moses Aldo Mpanga, who was a teacher at Step By Step Primary School, was allegedly dismissed by the school authorities over accusations of defiling pupils.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said Mpanga, a resident of Nansana, allegedly sexually abused the girls (names withheld) between 2019 and 2020.

It is said that Mpanga committed the offence on girls aged between 12 and 15.

“Two of the girls are aged 13; three are 12 years old, and the last one is 15 years. They live in different homes. It was on the basis of this alleged abuse that police contacted the parents of these girls and we recorded statements from them,” said Owoyesigyire.

The deputy Kampala Metropolitan police publicist said preliminary investigations show that before defiling the girls, Mpanga would allegedly first intoxicate them, especially with alcohol.

However, Owoyesigyire said that Mpanga had by press time declined to record a statement with police or disclose his age.

“Investigations into what exactly happened are ongoing.”
