The Minister of Education Agness Nyalonje has enlightened more on how Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) will benefit African content Universities and other Actors to strengthen Higher Education, science , Technology and Innovation development in Africa.
Nyalonje Said this on Wednesday in Lilongwe following the installed of the State President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera as recognized as the Champion of high education through the outstanding contribution to the development of Malawi in his leadership to promote education in the fulcrum of human development across the continent.
“This is a great honour for the President and the Nation as He will be the touch bearer and the voice of high education in Africa.” Said Nyalonje.
In his remarks the Board Chair for RUFORUM Professor Kanyama Phiri said the forum has made a huge impact in a way that training programmes in agriculture related fields in different Universities across Africa to train for Africa in Africa within the countries as way of developing African continent.
Executive Secretary for RUFORUM Prof. Adipala Ekwemu from Makerere University in Uganda said RUFORUM focus on Resource Mobilisation and advocacy for Higher Education in Africa and it is a network of 129 Universities in 38 Countries in Africa of which the five Universities are from Malawi and the President has been part and parcel of mobilizing support for Higher Education.
