A 56 years old man has died after hanging himself with a rope in Chikwawa.
The incident happened on night of June 7 and 8, 2021.
Chikwawa Police PRO Dickson Matemba said the deceased has been identified as White Million of Lauji village Traditional Authority Katunga who until his death was Group village headman Lauji.
Matemba said the motive of taking his own life is not established but according to one of his relatives Million picked a quarrel with his stepson for unknown reasons.
However he went into his house and hanged himself.
The matter was reported to police who rushed to the scene in the company of medical practioners from Chikwawa District hospital.
Postmortem revealed that death was caused due to strangulation secondary to the hanging.
