The Salima Sugar factory has resumed its operations after the government ordered its closure to curb the further spread of Covid-19.

The company secretary Charles Thupi confirmed the development while saying that the processing season will commence next week.

The sugar manufacturer which is co-owned by the Malawi government and Indian investors was closed early last month after a group of expatriates tested positive for Covid-19.
