Man Arrested For Fatally Stabbing Would-Be Robber In Namibia

The Keetmanshoop police on Wednesday arrested a man for murder.

Acting regional crime investigations coordinator Douglas Hanse said the suspect stabbed a man, who was trying to rob him, to death.

According to Hanse, two men, one who is now dead and another, were trying to rob the suspect of his items on the B1 road near the Keetmanshoop military base.

“The suspect then stabbed the deceased in the chest with a knife,” said Hanse.

The chief inspector said the victim died on the spot. He was identified as 37-year-old Edward Martin Hanse.

His next of kin were informed and police investigations continue.

On Wednesday, the police also discovered the decomposed body of a man at farm Klipdrif in Keetmanshoop district.

Chief inspector Hanse said the body was identified as Hendrk Boois, whose age is unknown.

“According to the family, the deceased had been missing since the previous week Friday and was mentally challenged,” said Hanse.

Police investigations continue.
