Police officers transferred at Sanjika Palace after shooting incident

Malawi Police Service (MPS) has transferred officers who were stationed at Sanjika Palace to various police stations.

The development comes barely two days after a drunk motorist trespassed into the palace.

In a communication that we have seen, MPS has transferred six officers from Sanjika Palace and one from Kamuzu Palace to stations such as Mchinji, Mwanza and Chikwawa.

National police spokesperson, James Kadadzera, said issues of police transfers are internal and that he could not comment.

The motorist was on Sunday night eventually shot on both legs following the incident.

The victim is currently admitted at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) and is in stable condition.

Meanwhile the motive behind his action is not yet known.
