Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Mzimba has convicted and sentenced a 21 year old man imprisonment with hard labor for defiling a 15 year old girl.
The convict is identified as Stanford Mkochi.
According to reports, Mkochi is suspected to have defiled the girl in August last year.
The incident took place at Ekhilangeni village in the area of Inkosi Mmbelwa in Mzimba.
Passing judgment Senior Resident Magistrate Mathews Msiska said the sentence is meant to deter others from committing similar offences.
