Pastor Khumbo Madise arrested settling in Kaning’ina Forest

Pastor Khumbo Madise is in police custody for allegedly staying inside Kaning’ina Forest reserve in Mzuzu for close to two years now.

The Pastor is said to have been arrested by the Department of Forestry.

Mzuzu Police Station Spokesperson Paul Tembo has confirmed the development saying Pastor Khumbo Madise has been charged with encroachment.

All his belongings including a tent and some general utensils have been handed over to police.

Kaning’ina Forest reserve is a protected area and is also one of the catchment areas for the Northern Region Water Board.
