Mapeto David Whitehead and Sons obtains injunction against tax evasion case

Lawyers for Mapeto David Whitehead and Sons have obtained an injunction stopping proceeding of an alleged tax evasion case involving Mapeto David Whitehead and Sons.

Defense lead lawyer, John Gift Mwakhwawa, served the court with the injunction while hearing was in session and state witness was testifying.

The injunction is staying the proceeding pending judicial review of the decision by Chief Resident Magistrate Jean Kayira to deny the defense a 30 day adjournment.

Defense lawyers applied for the adjournment to prepare for the case on grounds that they need more time to go through case documents that were served to them 30 days later than ordered by the court.
