Chimunthu Banda claims one of his houses has been touched

Tension is slowly culmination into chaos in the run up to the opposition DPP’s national convention slated for 18 April, in Blantyre after a house belonging to one of Henry Chimunthu-Banda ’s supporters was torched by alleged Peter Mutharika supporters.

Mr. Frank Julius from Ndirande in Blantyre has told the media that his house was torched for associating with Chimunthu Banda who will contend with Professor Mutharika for the party’s presidency.

Another Chimunthu-Banda loyalist Wells Gama, Member of Parliament for Blantyre West has also confirmed the incident happened hours after the speaker of Parliament held meeting with some party officials in Blantyre.

But DPP Spokesperson and Chairperson of convention Organizing Committee, Nicholas Dausi has distanced DPP from the arson attack saying Mr. Julias left the party a long time ago
