Donnex Doney Muva will represent the Malawi Congress Party in the Mzimba East parliamentary by-elections on October 26 after emerging winner in the party’s primary elections on Thursday.
He got 167 votes against former Secretary for Nutrition HIV and AIDS in the Ministry of Health Dr. Mary Shawa’s 107.
The two initially tied on 85 votes before a run-off at Manyenyezi Primary School in the Constituency.
Muva has since pledged to improve delivery of social services to the citizens.
