Malawi records 16 cases of Omicron Variant of COVID-19

Cases of Omicron variant of COVID-19 have now jumped from 3 to 16 within a period of two weeks, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda confirmed of the development during media briefing aimed at updating Malawians on new measures set aside by government.

She said the latest Covid19 situations have led to various restrictions which they hope will see the situation controlled.

Kandodo says the country is now at level two of Covid19.

On public gatherings: Kandodo says for indoors , the number of people should not exceed more than 100 and outside should not be more than 250.

On sporting activities: Kandodo says the gatherings which include in football, music shows and others should not exceed 250 people.

She says the curfew is back and people are expected to be indoors by 10pm.
