Kalindo speaks against mandatory COVID-19 vaccination

Former United Transformation Movement (UTM) National Youth Director Bon Kalindo has spoken against plans by government to make COVID-19 vaccines mandatory for frontline staff including health workers and journalists.

Last week, Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda said all civil servants and journalists will go for mandatory COVID-19 vaccination starting from next year.

Chiponda said this will be done to avoid further spread of the pandemic which has claimed over 2000 Malawians including Cabinet Ministers.

But Kalindo has trashed the call, claiming it’s a violation of human rights.

Kalindo has since threatened to hold national wide peaceful demonstrations.

He has therefore challenged not to fear arrests or persecution as he lead demonstrations against government.

Government is yet to comment on the matter.
