Court yet to set date for hearing of Msukwa, Sattar case

High Court in Lilongwe is yet to set a date to begin hearing a case in which Lands Minister Kezzie Msukwa is allegedly involved in dubious land deals with businessman Zuneth Abdul Sattar.

Judiciary Registrar Gladys Gondwe has disclosed this three days after the High Court in Zomba stayed both Msukwa’s stay and detention by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

In her ruling, Judge Zione Ntaba transferred the matter to Lilongwe Registry citing good case management.

But her decision has attracted mixed reactions with the Malawi Law Society (MLS) describing the ruling as unusual and peculiar.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma indicated they would apply for the court to discharge the stay.
