Two Egyptians deported, 38 foreign nations arrested during festive season

Immigration authorities in the northern region, have deported 2 Egyptians and arrested 38 other foreign nationals for breaching local immigration laws over the festive season.

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services in the north conducted sweeping exercises and set up ad-hoc roadblocks to track illegal immigrants in all districts within its jurisdiction.

Northern Region Immigration Spokesperson, Francis Chitambuli, discloses that a majority of the illegal aliens were picked in Mzuzu City while others were nabbed in Karonga and at Songwe border post.
