Female Banker Jailed For Stealing Clients’ Money (See Photos)

ZAMBIA – A former female Zanaco Bank employee, Phanny Chaponda aged 36 has been slapped with a jail sentence of three years and eight months simple imprisonment, on four counts of theft by servant and money laundering activities.

Details are that Chaponda between 14 th August 2017 and 21 st August 2018, acting together with other persons unknown, did steal K175,150 belonging to depositors, which she illegally transferred into two accounts she had access to and later withdrew the money using an automated teller machine and point of sale.

She appeared before Magistrate Betty Mwiinga in the Lundazi Magistrate Court for sentencing last week.
