The government of Malawi has announced that it will install cameras along the M1 road as one way of enforcing traffic regulations.
Transport Minister, Jacob Hara made the announcement during a media briefing in Lilongwe.
According Hara, he has noted road users’ tradition of ignoring road traffic regulations in the absence of traffic officers.
The cameras, according to Minister Hara, will operate 24/7 on the roads to address such loopholes.
