Zambian mother throws away newly-born child

AN yet-to-be identified woman has dumped a newly born baby into the sewer ponds in Lusaka’s Garden compound.

The body of the baby was discovered in the early hours of yesterday, by those, who cultivate vegetables around the sewer ponds.

And some residents, who have appealed to authorities to secure the sewer ponds, have told ZNBC news that they suspect the baby was alive at the time, it was being dumped.

Meanwhile, area Councillor, ADRIAN BANDA says he will engage the Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company to fence off the sewer ponds for the safety of the residents.
