Angry villagers seal ESCOM offices at Makata in Blantyre (See Photos)

Angry villagers from Maoni Township in Blantyre have invaded offices of power utility body in the country, the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) demanding answers on faulty transformer which is yet to be repaired.

The disgruntled villagers who are currently holding peaceful protest at ESCOM offices are demanding answers on why it is taking long to repair the said transformer.

According to one of the concerned people, Madalo Juma despite the people following up with ESCOM officials on the matter, they are yet to electify the problem.

He said the development has affected their day to day livelihood.They have since vowed not to leave ESCOM offices until their grievances are resolved.

The villagers have sealed an entry to ESCOM offices with tree branches while some are chanting songs in disbelief of ESCOM behavior.
