DPP finally appeals Dzimadzi’s acquittal

The Office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has finally filed an appeal to the Zomba High Court against lower court’s ruling in Ntcheu which last month acquitted Vincent Dzimadzi on charges of an act intended to cause grievous harm to a 14 year old boy.

DPP, Dr. Steve Kayuni has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Kayuni, the State wants the High Court to ascertain the correctness, legality and propriety of the lower court’s findings and orders.

Acting Registrar of the High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal, Kondwani Banda has said the matter is before Zomba High Court Judge, Violet Chipao.

Banda said the case is set on 14 April,2022 where Judge Chipao wants to hear from both parties before determination.
