Mortician attempts to take own life in Zambia

A man of Mazabuka district is reportedly hospitalized after attempting to kill himself over a marital dispute.

His relatives have told Byta FM News that they found Wisdom Njobvu, a mortician (Malukula) at Mazabuka General Hospital Mortuary, battling for his life m on Sunday evening at ZIAH paddock before rushing him to hospital for treatment.

Earlier Sunday morning, traders at Kabobola market, including businessman Mukula Akayombokwa, broke the doors of a Coffin shop after Njobvu locked himself and his wife inside, in an alleged attempt to kill her.

But in an exclusive interview with Byta FM News Sunday afternoon, Njobvu dismissed the claims of attempting to kill his wife as a plot to have him arrested so that his wife can marry one of her lovers.

Njobvu also dismissed claims that he came to the shop with a hammer to confront his wife Doreen, arguing that he hit her with a plank to disarm her of the weapon which she wanted to use against him.

His wife denies the claims of infidelity and accuses her husband of over 30 years of violence, saying he once tried to kill her with an axe, an allegation Njobvu denies.
