CHITIPA: The Coalition of Women Living with HIV and AIDS in Malawi (COWLHA) has expressed concern that some religious leaders in Chitipa continue asking their faithful to stop taking ARVs on the basis that they will be healed by the Holy Spirit.
The organizations’ national coordinator Mrs. Annie Banda said the tendency is retrogressive towards the fight against HIV AIDS.
“As an organization, we will do something on the matter to save the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS,” said Mrs. Banda.
Chitipa Women Forum district coordinator Ms. Ruth Mbali has since said this is a pathetic development.—Zodiak Online
