Five people arrested for destroying houses for Chikulamayembe relatives in Bolero

Five people have been arrested at Bolero, Rumphi for allegedly having hand in the fracas that have been happening after the installation of Themba la Mathemba Chikulamayembe.

The development comes barely days after unknown people stoned the motorcade of Deputy Minister of Health Enock Phale.

Northern Region Police spokesperson Maurice Chapola has confirmed of the arrests in an interview with the press.

According to Chapola, the five are suspected of torching houses, ambushing the vehicle of Deputy Minister of Health Enoch Phala and destroying of other property.

Recently, Themba la Mathemba Chikulamayembe through his spokesperson accused the camp of Mtima Gondwe of being behind the fracas.

But Mtima Gondwe’s camp quashed the claims.

Meanwhile, tension is still high in the area.
