Zambian MP killer gets 12 months in jail

A Lusaka man who killed Kabwata UPND lawmaker Levy Mkandawire, Alick Jeta Kalenga has been sentenced to 12 months simple imprisonment.
High Court judge Ruth Chibbabbuka, who handed down the verdict a short while ago, ruled that Kalenga did not waste court’s time, remorseful and pleaded guilty to the offense.
The offense of causing death by dangerous driving attracts K9,000 fine or up to five years imprisonment.
