Chinese Embassy condemns Susu for shooting racist videos in Malawi

The Chinese Embassy in Malawi has condemned one of its national identified as Lu Ke also known as Susu, for allegedly using children to shoot racist videos in the country.

A BBC Africa Eye investigation has exposed Lu Ke as the man behind the video which caused outrage across the world in 2020 when it was published on Chinese social media.

In one of the videos, one of the Chinese men told a group of children to speak Chinese, saying that they are “black devils and have low IQ”.

Commenting on the development the Chinese Embassy has strongly condemned the act.

“The Embassy noted with great concern the video Racism for Sale circulated in the social media. We strongly condemn racism in any form, by anyone or happening anywhere.

“We also noted that the video was shot in 2020. It shall be stressed that Chinese government has zero tolerance for racism. In the past years, China has been cracking down on such unlawful online acts and achieved tangible results. We will work with the Malawi side and see to it that this issue be properly addressed,” read in part the statement.

Meanwhile, law enforces have launched an investigation on the matter.
