Malawi’s dancehall musician who killed himself over financial strains to be laid to rest to day

The remains of Augustine Maluwa Jnr alias Ancient King Jericho, a dancehall musician from Bangwe Township in Blantyre will be laid to rest today.

The artist killed himself yesterday and left behind a suicide note explaining why he made such a decision.

According to the suicide note, he got depressed due to financial hiccups. He added that life left him with no meaning.

According to him, everything in this life is unreal, except death hence a decision to kill himself.

King Jericho well known for songs like Wa Escom, Kamodzi, and Akwere was an Electrician by profession aside from doing music.
