It has now been confirmed that, the Blue Camp leader (a Law Expert himself) Prof. Author Peter Muthalika, will not be allowed to join the political race in 2014 as reports indicate that the he holds a dual citizenship.

According to section 6 and 24 of the Malawi Citizenship Act, any person who at any time while a citizen of Malawi and of full age and capacity, voluntarily claimed and exercised in any other country any right available to him under the law of that country, being a right accorded exclusively to its own citizens, and that it is not conducive to the public good tha he should continue to be a citizen of Malawi shall be liable to deprivation of citizenship of Malawi.
