SPC Colleen Zamba speaks out on Buluma’s resignation

Secretary to the Office of the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba who is also National Oil Company Malawi (Nocma) has confirmed of the resignation of Helen Buluma.

Her resignation comes barely a month after Ombudsman Grace Malera directed Nocma board to immediately nullify the contract of Buluma following findings that her recruitment was unlawful, irregular and unprocedural.

Speaking in an interview with the press, Zamba refused to give further details on the development.

But in a letter dated November 14, 2022, Buluma has cited undue pressure from her superiors and politicians in the government to bring new fuel suppliers on the list of suppliers in an effort to counter the existing fuel crisis in the country as the main reason for her resignation.

More details to follow..
