Police in Nsanje are in search of five people who went missing after a canoe they were on capsized on Wednesday.
The district’s Police Spokesperson, Sub Inspector, Agnes Zalakoma said 16 people were involved in the accident.
Zalakoma said 11 were rescued but five are still missing.
According to Zalakoma, a group of rescue team is under water to search and rescue the remaining people.
The district’s police Spokesperson said the people were sailing back from their crop fields on the Mozambican side before their canoe turned upside down.
