40 year old Zambian man jailed 18 years for indecent assault

A 40-year-old man of Chief Pembamoyo’s area in Vubwi district in Eastern Province identified has Albert Phiri has been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment with hard labour by the Chipata High Court for indecent assault.

According to ZNBC, Mr Phiri of Selela village committed the crimes in November 2020 when he administered some charms on four grade seven pupils so that they could pass their examination.

Mr Phiri got some fluids from the priv@te parts of the juveniles and administered some tattoos on their foreheads.

Mr phiri was slapped with a two year jail sentence by the Vubwi subordinate court for unlawful wounding and was committed to the High Court for sentencing in the other cases.

And Lusaka High Court Judge Gertrude Chawatama who was sitting in Chipata jailed PHIRI 18 years on each of the four counts of indecent assault.

Judge Chawatama said the sentences will run concurrently..
