Minister of Finance Sosten Gwengwe brushes off MK7 trillion grant from Bridging Foundation (Watch video)

Minister of Finance and Economic Development Sosten Gwengwe has trashed the purportedly the 6.8 Billion US Dollar grant which the Tonse Alliance government of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera signed with Bridging Foundation.

Gwengwe said this during Pre-budget consultation meeting held in the capital Lilongwe on Wednesday.

In his speech Gwengwe described claims that Malawi has US$6.8 billion from Bridgin as nonsense.

“There is no one who signed an agreement for money amounting to US$6.8 billion. That is just nonsense.

“The real issues are the ones we are talking about. We should not come here to talk about Bridgin Foundation, that is nonsense,” said Gwengwe.
