Kalindo’s payere-payere demos underway in Mulanje

Demonstrations organized by concerned citizens, led by comedian cum activist Bon Kalindo, are currently underway in Mulanje district.

The protests dubbed payerepayere are aimed at calling for the resignation of President Lazarus Chakwera and Vice President Saulos Chilima, as well as sanctions and the formation of a federation.

The demonstration began at Chisitu school ground and is making its way to the Mulanje District Commission’s office, where a petition will be delivered to the district commissioner.

Among the notable figures present at the demonstration are Billy Banda and Prophet David Mbewe.

As of now, the police presence at the demonstration appears to outnumber the protesters.
