MAN ARRESTED FOR MAKING FAKE ADMARC RECEIPTS IN RUMPHI

Police in Rumphi are keeping in custody Precious Msokwa Kaira fopr suspecting that he allegedly forged Agricultural Development and Marketing Cooperation (ADMARC) receipts and solicited money from buyers.

Spokesperson for Rumphi Police station Sergeant Tupeliwe Kabwilo has confirmed the development and said the incident occurred at Rumphi ADMARC depot.

Kabwilo also said that the suspect  have been approaching buyers queuing for maize with his fake receipts and tricked them that he had already paid money but could not manage to wait longer because he was rushing to attend a funeral.

On 21 March, 2023, two men approached the salesman with the receipts and after scrutinising realised that they were fake; he reported the matter to senior officers who called the duo and after questioning them they revealed that they bought the receipts from the suspect.

The matter was later reported to Rumphi Police Station who instituted investigations and with help from community members and the suspect was arrested at Kawajawaja Trading Centre.

Kaira also led the officers to his stationery shop where they recover unused forged receipts and computer.

The suspect will soon appear before court to answer charges he have omitted.

Precious Msokwa Kaira is 35 years old hails from Chimpapa Village,Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe Rumphi district.
