Police reveal identities of 5 people killed in road accident in Balaka

Police in Balaka have revealed identities of six people who died in road accident at the vehicle they were traveling in from the direction of Lilongwe was involved in an accident at Naming’azi along the Lilongwe -Blantyre (Zalewa) Road.

According to a police report, five have been identified as Mc Donald Mkundika, Mirriam Mkundika, Manderena Mkundika,Yona Mkundika and Precious Mkundika.

The vehicle, a Toyota Ipsum with registration number BR 9652, was being driven by Arkford Kamchokolo Mkundika from Mtali Village in traditional authority Kalolo in Lilongwe.

“On arrival at Naming’azi he lost control of the vehicle and swerved to offside where it landed into a flooded stream and sunk,” reads part of the report.

The remains of the five are currently being kept at Balaka District Hospital Mortuary.
