Reports from Lilongwe indicate that Msundwe police station in the district, on the way to Mchinji, has been set ablaze by angry citizens. Some reports indicate that a minibus has as well been fed to the flames in the same scenario.

It is alleged that officers at the station have failed to arrest a murder suspect, a development that has angered the members of the community around the Police station.

Over a week ago, Police in the Lower Shire District of Nsanje shot dead two protestors who were protesting to Police over their failure to apprehend a murder suspect as well.
