One more suspect arrested in Limbuli Trading Center robbery incident

The number of people arrested in connection to the Saturday night robbery at Limbuli Trading Center in Mulanje has risen to five following the arrest of four more suspects on Sunday.

Mulanje Police spokesperson Sergeant Innocent Moses has identified the four as Victor Steven, Henry Maseti, both from Takhiwa village in TA Njema, Nune Jackson from Chimwaza village and Mongani Chimasulu from Sayindimatola village in TA Nankumba in Mangochi District.

“They were mentioned by a suspect, Thoko Tebulo, the ex-convict who was recently released from prison where he served an eight year jail sentence for robbery and was arrested on Saturday over the same Limbuli robbery,” said Moses.

He said the suspects armed with pangas broke into the house of James Khunyumbu and went away with K170, 000 cash leaving the watchman seriously injured.

One of the suspects who is yet to be identified was shot dead by Samson Mitambo after the gang also broke into his house.
