In addressing the fuel and forex crisis in Malawi, Dalitso Kabambe, the former Reserve Bank Governor, believes in a swift resolution.
He has suggested immediate fiscal policy, monetary policy, and exchange rate policy reforms as potential game-changers within an eight-month timeline.
Kabambe argued that the government needed to stop attributing the issues solely to the war in Ukraine and the impact of COVID-19. Instead, he stressed the importance of finding solutions to alleviate the suffering endured by Malawians due to forex and fuel shortages.
This stance was aimed at addressing the prevailing challenges and offering relief to the citizens.
