Govt Disburses K40 Million In A Project Of Replacing Shelters at Gombwa Primary School in Chikwawa

Government Through the Minister of Water and Sanitation Hon Abida Sidik Mia MP, has disbursed the amount of a K40 million to project which is underway in Chikwawa to construct two new school blocks at Gombwa Primary School.

In a bid to address the dire conditions endured by learners at the School, the project will help students effectively putting an end to the use of inadequate shelters as classroom.

In her remarks, Abida Mia, cheers the construction project as it will enhance the learning environment for the students.

“It is unfair for children to be learning in grass-thatched shelters that expose them to various disruptions during classes,” remarked Mia, highlighting the need for better facilities”, Said Mia.

In addition to providing improved classrooms, Mia stated that the construction of the two school blocks is necessary to meet the enrollment needs of the students at the school.

Group Village Headman Mzangaya commended the efforts of the MP in addressing the classroom shortage at the school, indicating that the previous conditions had led to students’ frequent absences.

He also expressed gratitude for the boreholes that were sunk in the area, helping to mitigate waterborne diseases like cholera.

With these ongoing developments, students at Gombwa Primary School can look forward to a safer and more conducive learning environment in the near future.
