Forget the rumour about Goodall Gondwe to partner with Mutharika, sources indicate it is all farce.
According to sources within the ranks of the party, the Democratic Progessive Party (DPP) is holding talks with CEO for Airtel Malawi, Saulos Chilima, to partner with Mutharika as running mate in the 2014 May tripartite elections.
The sources have indicated that the party have settled for Chilima more because of his youthful age and the region in which he comes from, the Central region, which to them they feel that will neutralize the power of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in the region whereas his youthful age will appeal to some youths that were ready and willing to vote for Atupele Muluzi basing on the age factor.
Chilima, who was born in 1973, is a holder of an MA in Economics and is currently studying for a PhD in Business Management with the University of Bolton in the United Kingdom.
