In Limbe, Blantyre, tensions flared as vendors and minibus operators staged a protest against the Blantyre City Council’s recent decision to move them from their current locations, particularly those beside roads.

The new order, issued by Mayor Joseph Makwinja, requires businesses to shift to designated areas, sparking strong opposition.

To manage the escalating situation, Mayor Makwinja, along with Deputy Isaac Jomo Osman and the police, are inspecting areas notorious for illegal parking and vending.
