MALAWI TO HIT 60 MILLION BY 2050

The space might be small, it might be occupied by a large water body on the other end and there might be pressure on social services but the Family Planning Association of Malawi says the country is yet to be populated.

According to a report released by the body, Malawi will reach a staggering 60 million people by 2050, a situation that will see much pressure on land and social services as well.

Malawi has been said to have a high fertility rate arising from, among other factors, early marriages and teenage pregnancies.

With the government fighting with some other religious sects on contraceptives, it is yet to be seen how the problem will be solved.
