Renowned Malawian musicians Kell Kay and Emmie Deebo have found themselves at the center of social media criticism following the release of their latest songs, Amen and Sheli Banana, respectively.

The two artists, known for their strong following, have faced widespread backlash, with netizens expressing their disappointment in the tracks, which were released separately this past week.

Critics have taken to social media to ridicule the artists, labeling their new music as “whack.” One user even went as far as to comment on Kell Kay’s post with a sarcastic remark: “Thank you Kell Kay for making my grandfather walk. It has been 10 years since he couldn’t walk, but today he stood up strong and walked just to stop your song.”

In response to the mounting criticism, Emmie Deebo shared a lighthearted video of herself eating a banana while vibing to her own track, seemingly unfazed by the negative comments. The video has since garnered attention, as she confidently vibes to her so-called “whack” track in the background.

On the other hand, Kell Kay has taken a more reflective stance. He expressed disappointment in his close friends, fellow artists Gwamba and Charisma, whom he blamed for encouraging him to release the track.

According to Kell Kay, they assured him that the song would be a hit, only for it to receive negative reactions.

Despite the backlash, both artists remain in the spotlight as the debate over their new releases continues to unfold across social media platforms.
