Woman Arrested For Possessing Large Bags Of Marijuana In Salima

Police in Salima have arrested 25-year-old Bertha Emmanuel from Mbuna Village, Nkhotakota, for being in possession of cannabis sativa, commonly known as Chamba, without proper authorization.
Emmanuel was apprehended on December 30, 2024, at Kaphatenga Trading Centre following a tip-off that she was transporting the illegal drug from Nkhotakota to Salima.
Police stated that Emmanuel failed to provide documentation permitting her possession of the cannabis, leading to her arrest. She will appear in court once experts examine and verify the seized drug.
