Three Arrested in Mulanje for Housebreaking and Theft

Mulanje Police have arrested three suspects for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing various items in Namijingo Village.

According to Mulanje Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Constable Hawa Juma, the suspects have been identified as 28-year-old Enerst Spiya, 25-year-old Mtisunge Mwaro, and 32-year-old Naisoni Misenje.

Juma stated that on the night of February 13, the three suspects broke into a house while the owner was asleep and stole various items, including amplifiers, a computer, hard drives, mobile phones, chargers, and cables from the veranda.

The theft was discovered the following morning when the owner realized the house had been broken into and immediately reported the matter to the police.

Following investigations, law enforcement officers arrested the suspects after receiving reports that they were attempting to sell the stolen items.

The suspects are from the villages of Mponda, Njema, and Mitumbira, under Senior Chief Chikumbu in Mulanje. They are expected to appear in court soon to answer charges of housebreaking and theft.
