Lilongwe Court Continues Hearing Case on Fraudulent Cement Importation

The court in Lilongwe has continued hearing a case involving the alleged fraudulent importation of cement, which involves former presidential aide Norman Chisale and others.

The first witness, Wilson Upindi, who works for the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), is being questioned by the prosecution.

He told the court that he obtained a search warrant from the court to inspect Melton Hardware, a store owned by Mohammed Chunara. During the search, he seized hand-written documents and computers as part of the investigation.

The case continues as more evidence is presented in court.
