Cretik Becomes First Artist Signed Under Newly Launched Chitoliro Records

The organizers of the Urban Music People (UMP) Festival, under the brand Chitoliro, have launched a new record label, Chitoliro Records, with the goal of uplifting Malawian music talent.
The label has already signed its first artist, Usazam’biseso hit-maker ,Cretik, real name Samson Chidobvu, marking the beginning of what promises to be a strong musical journey.
In addition to signing Cretik, Chitoliro Records has also formed a music collective named Chito Sealz, which will bring together various artists to collaborate on upcoming projects.
As part of its launch, the record label has announced its first single, Anamwali, a song that will feature Ethel Kamwendo Banda and The Mighty Ndirande Anglican Voices, blending urban and gospel sounds. Furthermore, Chitoliro Records is working on its first album/EP, titled The Elevation, which will serve as the official soundtrack for the UMP Festival.
Chitoliro Records builds upon the legacy of Nde’feyo Entertainment, a label known for shaping Malawi’s urban music scene. The team has also hinted at signing more artists in the near future, including those who performed exceptionally well in the College Cypher Awards competition.
Additionally, aspiring artists who are interested in joining the label have been encouraged to submit applications as Chitoliro Records continues to grow.
