Illovo Malawi Announces Sugar Price Hike, 1kg Now at K3,000

Information reaching this publication indicates that the price of Illovo sugar has increased starting today.
According to a letter issued by Illovo Sugar Malawi Plc, the company has adjusted its sugar prices due to rising production and operational costs.
Under the new pricing, a 1kg pack of sugar will now sell for K3,000.
This price hike comes amid a sugar shortage in the market, with some sellers raising prices to as high as K4,000.
