Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has impounded uncertified imported fish and chicken products at Peacock Supermarket in Lilongwe, which were not in line with packaging standards.

MBS Communications Manager, Monica Khombe, said they have also impounded assorted groceries for having wrong labels and compromised English translation that does not adequately reflect the products’ description.

MBS has also issued a prohibition notice to Sana Cash n’ Carry Gravity Mall in the capital city not to sale fruits and Irish potatoes for failing to adhere to quality standards.

The two shops have also been fine K902,780 each.
