Police Arrest Woman for Knocking Out Her Step Child’s Tooth Over Mandasi

Police in Mangochi District have arrested Diana Bauleni (30) for allegedly beating her 7-year-old step-child, knocking out one of the child’s teeth, after the child ate mandasi (fried doughnuts) meant for tea.
Mangochi Police spokesperson Amina Tepani Daudi confirmed the incident, which happened in Mgundaphiri Village.
“Concerned community members intervened and rescued the child from further beating,” said Daudi.
Bauleni has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and will appear in court soon.
